Creative work Attribution

LI: To attribute creative work to the owner. I learnt that we should attribute images that are labeled for reuse so the owner doesn't think that you are stealing their piece of work. I learnt this by learning how to attribute and why we attribute. We attribute to give credit to the person who created the piece of work. We attribute so we let people know who created the piece of work.

Bonus Activity: The Rise of the ‘Selfie’

So My favorite hobby is listening to music and singing. It helps me feel destressed. I listen to music and sing when I am finishing school work. It adds a bit of beat and fun into it.

Although most of you are quite familiar with the idea of taking a ‘selfie’ (picture of ourselves), this was not always the case. In fact, it wasn’t until the early 2000s that people started talking about the idea of a selfie, taking selfies and posting them online.

In honour of the rise in popularity of the ‘selfie,’ take a selfie and post it on your blog. Try to show us at least one of your hobbies or one your favourite things (maybe a special toy or book). For example, here is a selfie of Hazel drinking a big mug of tea, and Rachel with her son, Aronui, attending a Paw Patrol show!

Activity 2: Lord of the Rings - Week Four: Contemporary Kiwis - Day 1: Turn of the Century (2000-2010)

Arguably one of the most famous movie trilogies of all time, The Lord of the Rings, was filmed in New Zealand. All three movies were directed by a New Zealander named Peter Jackson. The first movie was released in 2001, the second in 2002 and the third in 2003. The movies cost an estimated $300 million to produce!
Imagine that instead of spending the money on the movies, Peter Jackson decided to give all of this money to you. Lucky you! On your blog, tell us what you would do with $300 million dollars. How would you spend it? It is a lot of money so please think carefully about it and spend it wisely

So What will I do with money?
I will give some to my cousins that are like bff's to me and we could all halve the money equally so each of us get the same amount and go to the mall and plaza's and get some new clothes, shoes, shopping groceries, Food. If there is left over money we all have we will keep it for what we really need to buy for the family and stuff.

Day 1: Turn of the Century (2000-2010) - Activity 1: Celebrating a Win - Week 4

In 2000, the country of New Zealand celebrated when Russell Coutts and his sailing team won their second straight America’s Cup. This was the first time that a team from New Zealand had won back-to-back championships! Many people celebrated the victory with their friends and family.

On your blog, tell us what you and your family do to celebrate special events, such as birthdays. Do you have a special meal or go to a specific place? In our house, we usually make a pizza and bake a special cake. What about you?

My Family has big celebrations on our 21st birthday and we get a key that say's 'Happy 21st Birthday! (Name) (Picture of self) ". Like something similiar to this.
Image result for 21st key
We also get the whole family to come and it will be a big birthday party, for the person who turned 21 years old Like my Mum, Aunties, Uncles and family who has already have a key. Our family makes the food so the woman make the tongan food, and the men are roasting the pig for the birthday.

Bonus Activity: You Have to Pay to Play

In 1990, for the first time in New Zealand’s history, universities and polytechnics started charging students money to go to school. Prior to then, it had been free to go to university or to a polytechnic. Since 1990, students have had to pay thousands of dollars to attend post-secondary (after high school) education.

The new Labour government have promised to give up to three years of free post-secondary education to all New Zealanders by 2020!

On your blog, tell us what you think. Should students have to pay money (tuition fees) to go to university? Why or why not?

I think that paying money to go University is not right. You shouldn't pay money just to go to University it should be free because some students might have no money and are poor, how are they gonna go University? Also some other kids might not have enough money to pay the fee and when they have to pay it they don't and the fee might be more money.

This year was often referred to as the ‘Big OE’ or ‘Big Overseas Experience.’ A number of kiwis headed to places like Australia and England to live and work before returning to New Zealand to finish their studies.

Activity 1: Hairy Maclary - Day 4: Perms and Lycra (The 1980’s) - Week 3

On your blog, use the following sentence starter from the original book to finish the story.

Out of the gate and off for a walk went Hairy Maclary from Donaldson’s Dairy ”

To earn full points, your story should have, at least, 8-10 sentences.

Out of the gate and off for a walk went Hairy Maclary from Donaldson’s Dairy. Walking through the park where he met Jones she was a lizard, she needed to find her way home. "Oh Hi Hairy Mclary could you please help me find my way home?' said Jones. Of course barked Hairy Mclary. So off they went through the path way to find Jones house. Actually Jones forgot what her street name was called! 'Was it Cones Street or Zonas Street?'' said Jones. Jones owners made Jones name rythme with the street they Lived on. So they had to find which street rythmed with Jones name. It was Cones Street, so they went down Cones Street. Jones remembered which Number she lived on. It was House 7. After saying goodbyes to Jones Hairy Mclary from Donaldson's Dairy walked back Home.

Bonus Activity: A Bilingual Schooling System - Week Three: The Post War(s) Era (1951-1999) - Day 3: Groovy Man (The 1970’s)

For much of the past century, schools in New Zealand taught students in only one language – English. In 1972, Ngā Tamatoa member, Mrs. Hana Jackson, submitted a petition to Parliament to ask the government to include the teaching of Te Reo Māori (the Māori language) and Māori culture in New Zealand schools. We still use petitions to this day when we want an organization (e.g. a school) to make a change.

Think about your school. What is one thing that you would like change? Would you like to learn about different things?

To Mr. Johnston,

I think that instead of just 2 water fountains in each area we should have 3 water fountains. I am saying this because after kids play at school and the bell rings they go have a drink of water because they aren't allowed to go during learning time, there are a lot of kids at the fountains that some of the kids take a long time that some other kids will be late for class. Also when some water fountains are getting fixed.

Thank you
