Recount Writing

          Badminton


“YASS!’’ as I heard that we were doing a new Kiwi Sport session and it was called Badminton. Badminton is when you use a Racket and a Shuttle.


Group A went to our first session of Badminton. As we walked into the school hall to do our first session of Badminton we sat down in front of Kevin and greeted him. “YAS!’’ as I said when Kevin was telling us we were going to play stuck in the mud for a warm up. Kevins ways of playing stuck in the mud is slightly different. When someone is out they stand like a star fish but instead of going under them to make them free we need to clap our hand in between their legs and tap their hand.


Then we had to get a racket and a shuttle. Kevin was showing us the things we were not allowed to do with the racket like we were not allowed to use the racket as a toy, a guitar, and to play sword fighting.Then he was showing us our For grip and Back Grip. We had to hold the racket on the hand we write with. We first had to practise using the racket and the shuttle until we got used to using it.



Then we had to practice using the racket and the shuttle.Kevin put a challenge for us, our challenge was to hit the shuttle with the racket 10 or more times. For me it was hard. My high score was either 8 or 9. My goal was to get 15 but sadly I failed. Kevin made it look pretty easy because he was good at Badminton. Some people got 10 or more. Then we had to keep on practicing using the racket.

Kevin made us challenge ourselves to see if we could do trick shots using the racket. So we needed to hit the shuttle then hit it at the back of your back. We still needed to see if anyone could get 10 or more. I found this very hard because I could only do about 3 or 2 of those. Our other trickshot was we had to hit the shuttle with the racket in between our legs and see if we could do 10 or more.

After that Kevin told us to challenge each other and see if we can hit the shuttle lots of times if the shuttle fell to the floor we need to bob down and the last one remaining was the winner. We did 2 rounds and the three people who stood lat was remaining as the 3 finalists. They were Lukah, Matthew, and someone else. They were all competing each other to see if one of them were going to be standing last. They were all focusing on the shuttle but sadly two lost and the one who remained standing was Matthew! He won out of the three people competing.


At last we were almost finish with Badminton and before we were finish Kevin was reminding us what was the things you do on do with the rack and we needed to answer him.

Finally we were finished with badminton for the day and before we left the school hall we thanked Kevin and then headed off back the LS1.


LI:To revise recount writing.I think I did better in writing this then my Production writing because this has more detail then my production writing and that I did this in 40 minutes which I thought I couldn't do but I managed. I think I need to work on Punctuation. My Score I thought I was, was 28 which was higher then an average Year 4 score.

Badminton

Today for Kiwi Sport we did Badminton it was a new sport for the classroom. Our instructor for Badminton was Kevin.First we did a warm up it was Stuck in the mud Kevin's way of playing Stuck in the mud is different to make people free instead of going under their legs we need to clap our hands in between their legs and tap their hand. After our warm up Kevin was teaching us our For grip and back grip. We need to hit the the shuttle with the racket using our hand we write with because it will make it easier.Kevin was telling us the things we were not allowed to do with the racket we aren't allowed to use it to play with and swing it around because we might hurt someone and we can't hit it on the ground because it might break and we might need to pay for it. Then we had to start using the Racket and shuttle and try hit the shuttle with the racket 10 or more times.Then Kevin challenged us and we had to do trick shot and competitions after when we wee used to hitting the shuttle  with the racket. After when we were almost finish with our session with Badminton we did a competition we had to if we could hit the shuttle the longest and if our shuttle falls down then we need to bob down and the last person remaining is the winner.The second round of that the three people who remained standing is supposed to compete each other too see who can hit the shuttle with the racket longest and the Winner was Matthew!

Today for maths we were talking about Fractions and mixed numerals.To convert fractions in different forms you need to make your fraction the exact same size and to see if you did that you need to put your fraction on top of the other to see if they were the same size. Fractions can be represented in different ways by the size,numerator,and the denominator.

Te Reo Maori

Today for Maori we were talking about the places in New Zealand that are Maori.We had to buddy up into pairs and and work together.We got a Paper sheet.On the paper sheet me and my buddy had to go onto Google maps and search up the places in New Zealand from the places on top of New Zealand to the bottom. It was kind of hard work to finish this task but me and my pair didn't be able to finish.

Today I played a game called Free Rice.This game is a learning game.There is a word and you need to find the different word to it but means the same thing using the bunch of words beneath it.


Leadership - Adam Blair


LI: To use a range of comprehension strategies to go deeper into text.I learnt that being a leader is when you encourage other players into doing their best.I learnt this by reading a article about leadership and the person who was making the example was Adam Blair.

How to add Fractions

LI:How to add and subtract fractions with the same unit size.I learnt the when you are adding fractions you leave denominator as it is.I learnt this by creating a video about adding fractions.I hope you learnt something during my video.For maths today we were talking about how to add fractions with the same denominator.We had to make a video showing you guys how to add fractions.

It was panmure bridge school's 60th Anniversary. So by celebrating the 60th Anniversary we celebrated it by Dancing.We had a Dancing Instructor her name is Zoey.We had to split up into groups and each group had a different song to it.She taught us the Dances and we picked the music.There was different music we had to choose from. My group chose Whip Nae Nae  I expressed myself by Jumping up and down. I was really happy and surprised that we were doing a dance. Each time we went to practise the more better we got.When we first started practising we were on the ground but when we got better we practise performing on the stage and getting off the stage when we finished our performance.After each group did their dances we all came together on the stage and did the Harlem Shake then a mexican wave.


We did our dances at school in the hall.So our whole school got together to practice our dances because Mrs Burke was buying our costumes for our dances. We tried on the costumes that Mrs Burke has bought for us and we did our dances in the Costumes.Before the show we had got ready into our costumes and when our class was doing our performance we all were ready.

LI: To learn how to write a recount.I learnt that recounts are based on a true story and they happened to you. I learnt this by writing a recount about our Dance production.I think I should work on Punctuation and I think I was pretty good with my organisation.
